Description

Kurt Klaus belongs on watchmaking Mount Rushmore –– period.

Klaus is an institution in the world of watchmaking, developing many mechanical works of art, most notably inventing IWC’s autonomous perpetual calendar. 

He also believed that given its absolute beauty and significance to the brand, the IWC Calibre 9521 pocket watch movement belonged inside of a wristwatch. As a result, the Portofino line was born, and its distinct profile, being a 46mm dress watch in the early 1980s, made it unlike anything the industry has ever seen.

This particular piece, a IWC Reference IW5251, features an expansive 46mm 18k yellow gold case with a gold winding crown. The white dial features printed ‘Roman’ indices, two recessed sub-registers, one serving as the moon phase display through a crescent aperture, and the other a small seconds display, as well as a matching ‘Breguet’ handset. Like the sapphire crystal sitting atop the dial, the same goes for the exhibition caseback giving way to the IWC Calibre 9521 manual winding pocket watch movement.

Paired with a gray ‘pebble’ leather strap and a signed gold pin buckle, this IWC Reference IW5251 is ready to fill the dress watch void in any collection.

Return Policy

Our commitment to you does not end at delivery. We offer the following return services to make your experience as pleasant as possible.

10-Day Returns For Timepieces:

Timepieces purchased online can be returned or exchanged within 10 days from when they are shipped or collected.

30-Day Returns For All Other Purchases:

All other online purchases can be returned or exchanged within 30 days from when they are shipped or collected.

On presentation of the original receipt, your purchases may be returned or exchanged at any of our store locations. Alternatively, you may elect shipping to our facility with all the original paperwork. All refunds must be credited to the same tender used for the original purchase. To return the online purchases through secure shipping service, please contact our client service team who will provide you the shipping label.

All returns or exchanges must be in new, unworn condition, with no scratches or markings, not sized or adjusted and in their original packaging and with warranty cards / certificated and instruction booklets.
