TAG Heuer shakes up one of its most popular collections with a trio of Formula 1 Chronographs in vibrant racing colours. Setting the pace this autumn are three new TAG Heuer Formula 1 chronographs available in vibrant red, yellow and green. Why these colours in particular? Because they were signature motorsport colours during the 1960s (when the TAG Heuer Formula 1 collection was first launched) and 1970s. Similar hues feature in the liveries of many iconic drivers and teams (British Racing Green and Rosso Corsa Italian red, for example) and they are also reminiscent of lights, flags and track markings that are still seen in Formula 1 and on racetracks today.

All three new chronographs boast a 43mm fine-brushed stainless-steel case, quartz movement, a black PVD steel bezel with tachymeter, a case back engraved with a chequered pattern, and a rubber strap in red, green or yellow.

There are some subtle differences between the three models. On the green edition, the central hand is lacquered white and the chronograph subdials are circled in red. On the yellow edition, the central hand is lacquered red with chronograph subdials bordered by black and yellow. And for the red edition, the central hand is white, as are the circles around the subdials.

If any watch brand has earned the right to call product line ‘Formula 1’, it’s TAG Heuer. Its motorsport associations date back to 1968, when Jack Heuer signed a sponsorship deal with Swiss legend Jo Siffert. The brand has been creating watches to cater to drivers’ needs ever since, incorporating features such as chronographs, tachymeters and high-contrast accents to ensure legibility at high speed.

But, of course, they aren’t just for racing drivers – these Formula 1 chronographs are also perfect everyday watches, and great value too.
