3…2…1…Liftoff!

Take a poll amongst wristwatch collectors, and we'd bet the consensus would be that there’s no more important or iconic in a watch collection than an Omega Speedmaster. 

Sure, chronographs such as the Rolex Daytona or the Heuer Carrera are classics — icons even, but neither can match the stature of the Speedy with regards to importance in history. In fact, arguably no watch can.

This particular Speedy, a Reference 35715000, might date from the early 2000s, but in spirit and aesthetics it has all the elements of a classic Apollo-era watch. It remains in excellent condition throughout with a strong case, a nearly flawless dial, and a correct multi-link, stainless steel bracelet. What’s more, it’s a special, limited-edition release of 1,999 pieces in celebration of the famed Japanese manga series Galaxy Express 999. 

Housed in a 42mm stainless steel ‘twisted lug’ case with a Hesalite crystal, a signed crown, and a black tachymeter bezel, it features a luminous matte black dial with a matching handset, and a special caseback engraving of Maetel from Galaxy Express 999, as well as the watch’s serial number and the signature of Leiji Matsomoto, creator of the series.

Powered by Omega's robust and reliable Calibre .1861 hand-cranking movement, this piece comes fitted to a stainless steel bracelet with a signed push-button deployant clasp and its warranty card dating to circa 2000.

This is an excellent example of a not often seen Speedy that has character for days (see what we did there?) while remaining thoroughly modern. And it’s a rare bird.

OVERALL CONDITION

The case is in fantastic condition overall showing light signs of wear consistent with age and use. Luminous matte black dial is in as-new condition with matching handset. Signed crown. Bracelet and clasp show normal wear.

Timepieces purchased online can be returned or exchanged within 10 days from when they are shipped or collected.

30-Day Returns For All Other Purchases:

All other online purchases can be returned or exchanged within 30 days from when they are shipped or collected.

On presentation of the original receipt, your purchases may be returned or exchanged at any of our store locations. Alternatively, you may elect shipping to our facility with all the original paperwork. All refunds must be credited to the same tender used for the original purchase. To return the online purchases through secure shipping service, please contact our client service team who will provide you the shipping label.

All returns or exchanges must be in new, unworn condition, with no scratches or markings, not sized or adjusted and in their original packaging and with warranty cards / certificated and instruction booklets.
