WHY WE LOVE IT

No, it’s not a Tank. And yes, it deserves your attention!

While Parisian jeweler to the stars Cartier may be best known in horological circles for its famed Tank watch, the French firm produced — and continues to produce — numerous other watch models that deserve equal billing for their unique and sumptuous designs. 

The Louis Cartier collection, announced by Cartier Paris in 1973, constituted a redesign of the maison’s watch offerings upon its launch. Fresh takes on classics such as the Tank and Santos Dumont were accompanied by new designs, including that of the Ellipse. A slim, horizontal watch with a simple “Roman” dial, the Ellipse conveys the same spectacular design principles as the Tank in an unconventional format. 

This particular Ellipse is housed in a 35mm yellow gold case in good condition that shows normal signs of wear throughout. Featuring a sapphire crystal and the signature Cartier cabochon crown, its centerpiece is a white enamel “Roman” dial with blued steel sword hands. Paired to a black leather strap with a hidden deployant clasp and powered by a manually wound Cartier movement, it makes for a beautiful dress watch, subtle and classic.

OVERALL CONDITION

The case is in very good condition overall showing normal wear consistent with age and use. Gloss white 'Paris' dial with printed 'Roman' indices is in excellent condition with only faint signs of aging. Blued steel handset. Sapphire cabochon crown.

Timepieces purchased online can be returned or exchanged within 10 days from when they are shipped or collected.

30-Day Returns For All Other Purchases:

All other online purchases can be returned or exchanged within 30 days from when they are shipped or collected.

On presentation of the original receipt, your purchases may be returned or exchanged at any of our store locations. Alternatively, you may elect shipping to our facility with all the original paperwork. All refunds must be credited to the same tender used for the original purchase. To return the online purchases through secure shipping service, please contact our client service team who will provide you the shipping label.

All returns or exchanges must be in new, unworn condition, with no scratches or markings, not sized or adjusted and in their original packaging and with warranty cards / certificated and instruction booklets.
