Reimagined for today’s adventures, TAG Heuer pays tribute to the ground-breaking Autavia by adding three new models to their legendary collection. Initially developed in 1962, TAG Heuer remains true to its pioneering roots by introducing two flyback chronographs and the first ever three-hand GMT into the Autavia family. Let's take a closer look…

The Autavia collection dates back 60 years, launched under the leadership of Jack Heuer and inspired by two pillars of TAG Heuer’s history: automobile and aviation. The oldest TAG Heuer collection to exist, the Autavia has forged its own path, developed initially for dashboard timers for cars and aircrafts. These original 1960s Autavia timepieces gained a loyal fanbase, thanks to their distinctive rounded cases and bevelled lugs, and their legibility in any racing conditions. This collection was eventually discontinued in 1985 and briefly revived in 2003. The Autavia name would later make its way onto wristwatches and become the exceptional timepiece we recognise it for today.

Now in 2022, the timepieces have been reimagined for the watch enthusiast of today, delivering TAG Heuer’s impeccable excellence and exceptional reliability. Within two of the three timepieces, the newly developed Calibre Heuer 02 COSC Flyback manufacture movement is embedded, making it possible to reset the chronograph hand to commence a new timing without the need to stop it first. A rare complication on chronographs due to the difficulty to implement, the Flyback Chronograph delivers ease and accuracy even during the most high-pressured situations, such as recording lap times at the racetrack.

A contemporary take on classic pilot’s watches, each model embodies the daring, highly functional design of the mid-century originals. Where heritage meets performance, the Autavia collection perfectly combines the two, producing sophisticated pieces that withstand the test of time.

The Autavia Flyback Chronographs

In a 42mm, DLC-coated fine-brushed stainless-style case, the first Flyback Chronograph model features a black ceramic bidirectional rotating bezel and black dial, showcasing the direct link to TAG Heuer’s military pieces of the past.

The Autavia GMT 3 Hands

The third model introduced is the first of the collection fitted with a Calibre 7 COSC GMT movement, a function allowing additional time zones to be set. Its blue sunray-brushed dial captures attention whilst its numerals and hands are coated with vintage inspired Super-LumiNova® for perfect readability, even in the most challenging conditions.

Now 60 years on from its initial launch, the TAG Heuer Autavia continues its legacy as a robust, durable and versatile piece, fit for any adventure.
