The Cartier watch collection is the culmination of almost 150 years of mastery in gems and horology. Inventive genius Louis Cartier created a watchmaking department in the 1880’s in Paris. His creations linked aesthetics with technology and very quickly caused a stir. In Cartier’s workshops on rue de la Paix, designers mingled with lapidaries, mounters, enamellers and technicians. All were united in their skills to create the first Cartier jewelled clocks and watches; pieces precious enough to be destined for royal families the world over.

Those same skills from over a century ago are used today with precise detail; taking months, sometimes years to create a finished piece. Recognized as a master watchmaker worldwide, the Cartier name is the result of this carefully amassed knowledge.
