DESIGNER ESTY |
|
ESTY discovered a passionate interest
in metal-smithing which led her to further explore the intricate
art of jewellery design. Driven by her talent, she aspired to
become a jewellery designer. Following two years of technical
training and a series of intensive workshops throughout Canada
the US and France, she attended the internationally renowned
design school, Escola Massana in Barcelona, where she pursued
her desire to create contemporary jewellery. During her intensive
three-year program at this prestigious institution, she learned
the essentials of stone-setting and metal-alloying by collaborating
with a gemmologist to finance her studies.
In 1993, ESTY moved to Place des Vosges in the city of lights,
Paris, where she brought her talent to the leading fashion craft
of Haute Couture. She created original designs and metal prototypes,
runway looks and accessories for various fashion designers including
Thierry Mugler while her pieces were being sold at Jean Dinh
Van’s in the distinguished Place Vendôme.
In 1994, ESTY was honoured with a Young Designer for Contemporary
Jewellery prize by the town of Cagnes-sur-Mer on the French
Riviera, which has since become her home base year round.
ESTY is an extraordinary artist whose designs are innovative,
whimsical, sensuous and organic. Her wearable micro sculptures
capture the very essence of life. ESTY’s creations are
internationally recognized and have been featured in shows and
galleries in major cities throughout Europe and North America
including Paris, London, Brussels, Luxembourg, Montreal, Santa
Monica and New York. Born under the sign of Cancer, a water
sign, ESTY designs original creations that aspire to capture
the fluidity of water and nature in all its forms. Her one-of-a-kind
creations can be found in the permanent collections of The Château-Musée
of Cagnes-sur-Mer and the Oceanography Museum of Monaco as well
as in numerous private collections, including the remarkable
Alice and Louis Koch Collection, Switzerland which has acquired
several of her rings.
Her beautiful designs have also graced the red carpet on the
arm of Oscar nominee Kristen Scott Thomas, as well as models
throughout the pages of upscale magazines across North America.
